Volunteer Opportunities

Sportspeople  are the best conservationists and volunteers. Throughout the year, we have opportunities for volunteers to support the PRR and MNHA.  Your support helps reduce costs and maintain the high level and quality of hunting at PRR.  They're also great opportunities to meet fellow hunters and peek around to see what the animals are doing.

Here's a brief list of the types of opportunities available. Please contact us at VolunteerCoordinator@mnha.net so we know you are coming.

Maintenance Days - year round.  We meet every 3rd Sunday of the month at 9AM to do "medium lifting" projects like mowing grass (fire safety for parked cars), clearing brush, and repairing signs. MNHA partners with the FWS to maintain the PRR grounds to increase wildlife habitat and provide close access to hunting opportunities. Bring a tool bag if you like (no chainsaws - PRR regulations).

Permit Sales - August to September. This is the peak permit sales period and we need volunteers to help prepare and sell permits when the HCS is open.

Weapons Qualification and Membership Range Days - see schedule on the Weapons Qualifications and  Membership Range Days pages. Volunteers monitor archery qualifications at the Hunting Control Center August - September and act as Range Safety Officers at the firearm qualifications on the specified dates.

Ad Hoc Volunteer Opportunities. If you want to share your talent and skills with us, please contact us. We can use help with marketing, generating harvest reports for the PRR, and IT systems (databases, email, website).

Thanks to all who can come out and volunteer!
